The landscape has expanded and evolved plenty over the years. Naturally, with saturation comes fragmentation. Everybody will gravitate towards a certain type of design, everybody will develop their own palate. And with a ground fecund for the vintage, retrofuturistic aesthetic, Nike plants the Zoom Vomero 5.

Thus far, there have been many colorways released like the “Photon Dust”, “Bone Beige”, “Wheat Grass”, “Oatmeal” and “Cobblestone”. Joining the ensemble next year will be the titular “Wolf Grey”.

It isn’t too dissimilar from its contemporaries, carrying the same muted color scheme. A greyscale makeup engulfing the entirety of the shoe in varying shades of the color. Double-mesh panels form the base layer with a multi-material mix of overlays; from the black leather toe cap through to the signature TPU cages on the profiles and heel counter.

Moreover its hallmarks are the 3M reflective strips that accent the shoe on the forefoot and tongue, leading into the Swoosh at the heel. Pointing to a purported “Bill Bowerman” pack is the imprint of the Nike co-founder on the footbed, as seen on previous iterations as well.

A release date hasn’t been disclosed except for a loose Spring 2023. When the time comes however, find them on Nike SNKRS with a RRP of US$160.
