[Update 13 Jul 2023] It’s rare to see these days the pandemonium that used to follow major sneaker releases… until Corteiz head honcho Clint419 brought it back. As expected, they were sold out instantly in-store and online. Proving he’s man of the people though, a restock is in order for all three colorways including the “Pink Beam”. Not only that, he’s also bringing down the RRP to 110 GBP (US$143).

The rerelease will be exclusive to his London homebase. Similar to the release cadence of the ones prior, a secret location will be announced on 15 July. Its coordinates and timeframe will be announced then so keep a lookout for them on his Instagram. The shoes will be sold in a first-come-first-served basis.

[Update 14 Apr 2023] After the chaos that ensued during the Corteiz x Nike Air Max 95 “Les Blues” launch in Paris, the label has announced a subsequent online release for the coveted pair. Corteiz’s website will launch the drop on 14 April at 7PM BST/2PM EST, however only shipping to Europe, Middle East, and Africa are available.

Hysterically, founder Clint also took the time to correcting everyone on his Twitter account, highlighting that the name of the colorway is actually “Les Blues” instead of “Aegean Storm”.

[Update 12 Apr 2023] Taking to Instagram, Corteiz has revealed a release date of 12 April for the Nike Air Max 95 “Aegean Storm”. However, a location will only be disclosed at 1:50pm at Rendez-vous, Place de la République and pairs will be sold limitedly to one per person.

Suggesting that the release schedule will follow its previous “Pink Beam” variant, we will keep you informed when info of an online drop reaches us.

[Update 5 Apr 2023] An early source reported that the third in the Corteiz x Nike Air Max 95 was called “Koen Stone”, but at the time of this update, it’s established as “Aegean Storm”. It’s still expected to be released on 15 April for US$190 like the prior colorways. Where and how they’ll be released, that’s for another update. It depends on what ingenious plan the two parties have for it.

LINE

Succeeding the “Pink Beam” colorway, comes this incoming “Koen Stone”. The Corteiz x Nike Air Max 95 series have caused a frenzy wherever it was released, be it in the physical or digital realm. The debut colorway caused one in New York, and the followup though an online release was just as cryptic—then again, much like all their other releases.

U.K. label Corteiz was started in 2017 and remains as much an enigma today as it did six years ago. Some drops had their own conditions like bringing a branded jacket to qualify for a purchase, others had coordinates that required fans to decipher, and their most recent “Pink Beam” required a password for an obscure link, shared only via email at the very precise minute the items went live. At the time of writing, their Instagram account is set to private, but with over 600K followers.

Right now, the titular “Koen Stone” is supposed for a 15 April release though not much is known about them yet—as intended, very much in accordance to the mysterious nature of the brand. For what it’s worth, at least there’re product images now.

The makeup of the shoes doesn’t deviate too much from its predecessors, dressed uniformly in black save for a few hits of color. A light blue lends their use to highlight the branding on the mudguard; lateral heel; the Alcatraz logo embroidered on the tongue; and lastly, the Nike imprint on the camouflage-patterned footbed.

A mix of materials form its make. From the black mesh base layer, the tonal leather overlays, and the rubber sole unit. Faithful to its original design, therein feature the hallmark air bubble window at the forefoot and heel. Underfoot sees a graphic visible through the transparent panel on the outsole.

As mentioned, nobody knows how they’ll be released and where they can be bought. The question is as much where as how we can find them. Knowing the brand’s guerrilla marketing prowess, that’ll be news in itself. Stay tuned!

Till then, find out more about the recently-teased Bodega x Vault by Vans.
