Out with the old, in with the new. As 2023 draws to a scintillating close, footwear brands across the world have begun preparing for the forthcoming year’s releases. While some are already baking in the oven, others are still in the midst of kneading. No matter the stage in which these sneakers find themselves in at this present time, it’s no stretch to call 2024 an extremely exciting one already.

In this story, we’ll preview some of the most anticipated sneaker releases in 2024. It is important to note that a majority has not officially been confirmed by their respective brands just yet, which means there’s always a possibility they could be delayed to 2025. That said, here’s a quick roundup of what to prepare your wallets for, in no particular order:

2024 Sneaker Releases To Get Excited About Right Now

Nike Air Jordan 4 “Bred Reimagined”

Top Sneaker Releases in 2024

Release Date: 17 February
Price: US$215

As mentioned in our preview of Air Jordans in 2024, the Nike Air Jordan 4 “Bred Reimagined” is certainly one of the most exciting in-line Jordan Brand releases next year. Part of the Jumpman’s recurring “Reimagined” series that saw the likes of the Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” and the Air Jordan 3 “White Cement” receiving a modern up-tooling, the legendary AJ4 colorway will make its triumphant return come 17 February.

Separating itself from its predecessors, this latest AJ4 “Bred” iteration will see the entirety of the sneaker’s upper crafted with leather instead of its traditional nubuck build. Rest assured that other aspects are largely kept faithful to the same pair that MJ wore when he made “The Shot“.

Trophy Room x Nike Air Jordan 1 Low OG

Top Sneaker Releases in 2024

Release Date: 15 February
Price: US$140

Whenever sneaker boutique, Trophy Room, gets a new collaboration with Jordan Brand, it’s worth taking note of—especially if its the AJ1. After all, Trophy Room is helmed by MJ’s very own son, Marcus Jordan.

Their next collaboration will see the Air Jordan 1 Low exude a touch of class and elegance, following after the store’s very own design ethos.

The Chicago-esque colorway is inspired by His Airness’ legendary 1986 Fleer collectible card and an image of MJ from a 1984 Sports Illustrated photo, along with gilded accents and mismatched profile Swooshes. One to have in your 2024 wishlist, but getting it could be a huge obstacle—if it’s Air Jordan 1 High predecessor is anything to go by.

Girls Don’t Cry x Nike SB Dunk Low

Top Sneaker Releases in 2024

Release Date: TBA
Price: TBA

Verdy has enjoyed a magnificent 2023. From being named this year Coachella’s Artist-in-Residence to an exclusive collection with luxury brand KENZO, Verdy is arguably the hottest designer/artist right now. There’s no better way to cap it off than another Nike SB Dunk Low, right?

As soon as leaks of a potential collaboration in 2024 came about, social media was ablaze. After all, his previous SBs in 2019 are selling at over US$2,000+ a pair these days.

While no images are currently available, there has been reports that next year’s collaborative effort will see a purple Swoosh; a color that Verdy has used many times for his labels. This might turn out to be one of the best Nike SB Dunk Lows of 2024, so keep an eye on it.

JJJJound x adidas Samba

Top Sneaker Releases in 2024

Release Date: TBA
Price: US$200

We take a break from the Swoosh and look towards its biggest rivals: the Three Stripes. The adidas Samba has evolved into an everyday staple that is a worthy opponent to the Nike Dunk Low “Panda”, and looks like it’s about to enjoy a fruitful 2024 too.

Pair that with Montréal’s ever-popular fashion boutique JJJJound and you have a concoction that’s ready to take the sneaker world by storm.

This actually marks the first time JJJJound and adidas are working together, and they’re kicking off their newfound relationship with a bang: a total of four colorways are reportedly in the works for the duo. Check out the link in the title to preview the “Off White” and “Mesa” pairs.

Jordan Jumpman Jack

Top Sneaker Releases in 2024

Release Date: TBA
Price: TBA

Travis Scott has been with the Jumpman family since 2017. While he’s had successful collaboration after collaboration, he’s never had his own signature shoe—until now.

Cue the Jordan Jumpman Jack. It’s only fitting that an artist of his pedigree would get his own crack at designing his own sneaker from start to finish. After all, all his previous Jordans continue to top the charts both in terms of popularity and aftermarket demand. Certainly, the “Highest in the Room”.

We’ve gone through the upcoming sneaker in great detail, even as far as to look through La Flame’s past works and endeavours. While the full extent of the Jordan Jumpman Jack has yet to be revealed officially, imagery of Travis sporting many different colorways point towards a massive influx from Jordan Brand. Will the Jumpman’s investment in La Flame pay off? Only time will tell, but if history is anything to go by—they definitely have it kept on lock.

Action Bronson x New Balance 1906R

Top Sneaker Releases in 2024

Release Date: TBA
Price: TBA

New Balance has had one of its best years in recent times. Among it’s many collaborative projects this year, the 990v6 “Baklava” with Action Bronson is heralded as one of the best of the year, which was quickly followed by the “Lapis Lazuli” a few months later.

Now, the multi-talented rapper has been called up once again by the brand, this time working on the reinvigorated 1906 silhouette. First previewing the yellow pair at Paris Fashion Week, Action Bronson would later also tease a blue colorway. Although release details are scanty at the moment, you can expect these to be a huge affair once they release next year.

Futura Laboratories x Nike SB Dunk Low

Top Sneaker Releases in 2024

Release Date: TBA
Price: TBA

Any time Futura’s name is mentioned near a Nike SB Dunk Low, sneakerheads go crazy—and for good reason. Being one of the Swoosh’ most prolific go-to’s for collaborative projects, Futura and his Futura Laboratories has produced banger after banger over the years, highlighted by the Futura x Off-White x Nike Dunk Low last year.

By and large, it’s somewhat reminiscent of the “University Blue” pair from the aforementioned release. Futura’s signature abstract visuals find their spot this time over the blue overlays, while the translucent gum outsole has been tinted to match the uppers as well. It’s a gorgeous-looking pair, and one that will definitely draw hypebeasts and graffiti fans alike.

MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon

Top Sneaker Releases in 2024

Release Date: TBA
Price: TBA

Call them unconventional, experimental, contemporary; whatever you know Margiela as, there’s no questioning how the luxury label continuously breaks new grounds in an otherwise palatable market. While they’ve previously worked with Salomon, the duo will embark on their boldest collaboration (so far) come 2024: an XT-4 Mule, alongside a X-DESALPES.

Showcased as part of the avant-garde label’s 2024 Resort Collection, they have perhaps taken cues from other brands and transformed Salomon’s most popular sneaker into a mule. It’s crazy to look at, but perhaps that’s what the brand wants?

A Ma Maniére x Nike Air Jordan 3 & Air Jordan 4

Top Sneaker Releases in 2024

Release Date: TBA
Price: TBA

Jordan Brand has a long list of clientele when it comes to collaborations, but A Ma Maniére proudly stands as one of the most prolific boutiques on that list. The duo have produced a wide range of sneakers across many different Jordan silhouettes, with the latest being on the Air Jordan 5.

2024 seems to be no different for James Whitaker’s label, with resident insiders @zsneakerheadz and Sneaker Files reporting that the duo have a set of Air Jordan 3 and Air Jordan 4 on the way. The colors are much more faithful to the first AJ3 back in 2021, which will no doubt prove to be a hit if history is anything to go by.

Lil Yachty x Nike Air Force 1 Low

Top Sneaker Releases in 2024

Release Date: TBA
Price: TBA

Perhaps it’s not on everyone’s 2024 sneaker wishlist, but it’s definitely one to take note of given Lil Yachty’s ever-growing presence within the sneakersphere. Miles Park McCollum, better known as Lil Yachty, is undoubtedly one of the biggest rappers in the world right now, and also a huge sneakerhead. So much so that he appeared at Complex “The Best Sneakers of 2023” panel at ComplexCon a few weeks ago.

In 2024, it seems like the Swoosh will finally be giving him his due, with early leaks of a Lil Yachty x Nike Air Force 1 Low seemingly in the works. His iconic “Concrete Boys” logo takes form on the heel in a navy hue, which is further stretched to the collar and outsole underfoot. “It’s Us” is also inscribed on the tongue tag, as well as on the special packaging.

Stash x Nike Air Max 95

Top Sneaker Releases in 2024

Release Date: TBA
Price: TBA

Rounding off our list is a legend revisited—or at least, we hope so. In 2006, the Swoosh engaged with graffiti artist Stash to create a blue-and-black themed Nike Air Max 95. Since then, the shoe has become some what of a hot commodity in the sneaker collecting world, with prices going to the thousands on certain sizes.

Almost 18 years later, it seems like Nike is keen on reviving this project. While it’s not confirmed just yet, reports have emerged that Stash will be working on a new Nike Air Max 95 design come the new year.

Details about their new collaboration have yet to been revealed, but many are alluding to the legendary 2006 pair as the source of inspiration. It remains to be seen what the duo will come up with, but there’s little to worry if Stash is at the helm.

And that’s about it for our most anticipated sneaker of 2024! Although we stopped at 10 releases, we know there’s still a myriad of hyped releases on the way—the likes of Patta‘s upcoming Air Max 1, the Lunar New Year-themed Air Jordan 1 Low “Year of the Dragon”, and the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Mambacita” are just some of the few that spring immediately to mind.

2024 seems like it’s going to be an awesome year for sneakers, so fasten your seatbelts and prepare for the wild ride.
