Ronnie Fieg, the founder of KITH, has enjoyed collaborations with a variety of brands throughout his illustrious career. Out of all of them, ASICS is his day-one. Not many sneakerheads today know that his collaborations with the Japanese brand began years before he opened his first KITH store in 2011.

Starting out as a simple stock boy at his cousin’s sneaker retailer, David Z., Fieg climbed his way through the ranks and eventually became the business’ head buyer. That was when he met ASICS in 2007, and where his journey with the Kobe-based shoemakers began. As they say, the rest was history.

Fast-forward 16 years, Fieg’s KITH boutique has grown into an empire, with over 12 locations worldwide. The New York-based label is now set to open two new flagship stores in the US, one being in Beverly Hills, California and the other in Miami, Florida. What better way is there to celebrate than going back to your roots and producing two new ASICS GEL-Lyte IIIs?

To double up on the festivities, Ronnie Fieg and ASICS will release two new GEL-LYTE IIIs to commemorate these two new store openings. Fittingly, these two new models will also mark the 99th and 100th collaboration between Fieg and ASICS, marking a century of different styles throughout their 14-year relationship.

Going back to his 2009 collection, the “Super Series”, Fieg presents the “Super Orange” for the California store and the “Super Yellow” in conjunction with the Miami outlet. Both models are part of the Remastered series, although the extent of the “remaster” have yet to be explained.

In terms of its design, both “Super Orange” and “Super Yellow” seem like they don’t stray too far from the path. The “Super Yellow” pair features an all-grey upper with the ASICS branding in yellow, while the “Super Orange” one is dressed in varying shades of brown and cream with an orange ASICS logo.

Both Kith x Asics GEL-LYTE III Remastered Super Yellow and Super Orange will drop exclusively in-store at their respective store openings, so expect them to be extremely limited. We’ll keep this page updated with more information and detailed imagery once we get them.

For now enjoy an early teaser via the top slider above, as well as a retrospective look at all 100 of Fieg’s past ASICS works courtesy of the man himself on Instagram.
