In the age of sneaker collaborations, ASICS’ close ties with Kiko Kostadinov is no secret affair. After their first collaborative effort UB1-S Gel-Kayano 14 flew off digital shelves, the designer and his brand team became mainstays in the division. By that, we mean that members of Kostadinov’s team are now in-house consultants that aid the Japanese brand in creating silhouettes and colorways. Among these consultants are Laura and Deanna Fanning, the twin designers behind Kiko Kostadinov’s womenswear collections.

Though the two brands are no longer releasing co-branded drops, collaborations are still part of their roster. And a teased triple effort from May is finally coming into fruition — Kiko Kostadinov x HYSTERIC GLAMOUR x ASICS is on its way! In a preview released on Kiko Kostadinov’s instagram, a GEL-Aurania upper is seemingly fused with GEL-Quantum Levitrack’s chunky cushioning to form this new silhouette. Unsurprisingly, these were also models that Kiko Kostadinov previously revamped.

Nameless at the time of writing, influences of the Warhol-inspired, rebellious HYSTERIC GLAMOUR can be seen on this model. With pops of glossy pink complemented by silver panels and meshing, the shoe is distinctively unabashed in its appearance. A chunky lacing system wraps across a thick tongue and ends in a Velcro slap-on, bolstered by a “fanned-out” sole unit. Very anti-mainstream, an attitude adopted by both HYSTERIC and Kiko Kostadinov. To celebrate this shared philosophy, co-branding is found on the heel in pink.

No concrete details have sprouted for this Kiko Kostadinov x HYSTERIC GLAMOUR x ASICS collaboration, but it’s likely to launch in women’s sizing given the Fanning twins’ involvement. It will likely launch in October, as stated in Kiko Kostadinov’s caption.

In the meantime, why not check out this A-COLD-WALL* x Converse collaboration teased by Hiroshi Fujiwara himself?
