As Seen on LeBron James: A New Colorway of the Nike Air Max 1 “Liverpool”
A glimpse of the incoming LeBron James–Liverpool F.C. collection.
The titular pair wouldn’t be the first silhouette to come out from the two parties. Last year saw the arrival of the LeBron 9 Low “Reverse Liverpool” and just this week, news of the thematic crimson LeBron 20 “Liverpool”. In between then, an Air Max 1. The 20 is purported to drop on 9 February and much like the Reds and their fans, it’s not walking alone.
It’ll be accompanied by another Air Max 1 premiered by the King himself. Spotted on his feet is a slight deviant from the colorway earlier announced. The color palette stays relatively the same with tonal greens, black, and white. However, the color-blocking diverges ever so slightly between the two, evidently on the base layer that now sees a teal mesh contrary to the white of its predecessor; and the tongue and laces that now appears in black.
That aside, everything else is shared including the overlays in green, the black mudguard, the orange accenting the sockliner, and lastly, the sole unit.
Homages to its namesake are made through the imprint on the footbed and the embossment made on the heel counter. There seen is “SFG” pointing to Fenway Sports Group, owner the football club; and “YNWA”, an abbreviation of their “You’ll Never Walk Alone” anthem.
Information remains scant about the shoes but with no official word or acknowledgment from their maker, there’s a possibility that they might be an F&F exclusive.
Along with the sneaker, the Laker was also seen wearing an unreleased kit as he walks through the tunnel before a home game. A black foundation and red striping lands over the top featuring the trifecta of Nike, Liverpool, and LBJ’s logos, with the last serving as the centerpiece.
As mentioned earlier, the LBJ x LFC collection is expected to drop on 9 February. Only the powers that be know about the place of this Air Max 1 in that pack, but when it is acknowledged in an official capacity, you’ll hear about it here.
