[UPDATE] 11 May: In addition to the Zion 1 Collection, a promo shoe based on the Jordan Air 200E silhouette will be released in “Jonin” colourway! There is currently no release date scheduled.

Jordan will be releasing the highly anticipated Naruto x Jordan Zion 1 Collection starting 11 May! All three pairs of sneakers will be going for $130 USD.

After an Instagram teaser post on 23 April, Jordan brand finally released the first set of its highly anticipated Naruto x Jordan Zion 1 Collection! The Zion 1 SP “Kyuubi” (Style Code: DQ4706-780) dropped 11 May, 10:00 AM EST on Nike US, sporting an Electric Yellow/Black/Chile Red/Alpha Orange mix that represents Naruto’s “Nine Tails Mode”. It reflects how Naruto and Zion Williamson control their maximum power and potential.

Alongside the “Kyuubi” drop, Naruto x Jordan Zion also released an apparel collection on 11 May, consisting of a Jordan Dri-FIT Air Statement Fleece sweatsuit, long-sleeve and short sleeve t-shirts. Their respective designs were drawn from key patterns and designs from Naruto and Naruto Shippuden.

The remainder of the collection will be dropping 18 May on Footlocker and Nike US. This consists of the Zion 1 SP “Sage of the Six Paths” and Zion 1 SP “Nine Tails”. The release time is currently unannounced.

The Zion 1 SP “Sage of the Six Paths” colourway (Style Code: DQ4706-160) mixes White/University Red/Black, representing the godlike power of the Sage of the Six Paths, the ancestor of the Shinobi.

The Zion 1 SP “Nine Tails” colourway (Style Code: DQ4706-780) is a combination of Black/Alpha Orange/Chile Red, and represents a wild power sealed within. The “Nine Tails”, or “Kurama”, was a beast deemed to be a mindless, powerful monster for centuries before it was finally controlled. It is a symbol for untamed potential, much like Zion Williamson when he first stormed through the NBA.

Masashi Kishimoto, the mangaka (author) of Naruto, also sent Zion Williamson an exclusive signed Shinobi portrait to commemorate the collection’s release:
