[Update 21 Sep 2023] Just a few days ago, official images have emerged alluding to a possible release of the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe “Summit White”, especially following allegations of perpetuating a toxic workplace culture in his NYC studio.

At the time of writing, neither parties have acknowledged it in any official capacity—till now. Nike said in a statement to Complex, “We are not working with Tom’s studio at this time and have no release dates planned.”

The operative words here are “at this time”. It’s a non-committal statement that does and does not ascertain a release. So back to the status quo, we’ll just have to stay tuned.

[Update 19 Sep 2023] Earlier this year, Nike announced that they’re moving on from Tom Sachs following the allegations against him of a tyrannical workplace culture. But just a few months removed, official images of the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe “Summit White” have surfaced, alluding that a release is still in the pipeline.

The partnership has been a lucrative one for both parties. But as have happened with Ye and the YEEZY brand, the GPS will have to be nice enough a silhouette for people to close an eye. Perhaps that verdict will be apparent once the shoes are released. When? Stay tuned! In the meantime, you can form your opinion by checking them out at the image gallery above.

[Update 16 Feb 2023] A new image of Tom Sachs’ “University Gold” GPS has surfaced, following the strong release of the “Brown” colorway. Depicted therein is a coterie wearing the aforementioned two pairs. There’s no release date just yet but the shoes should arrive within the coming months once the warmer season comes around. Stay tuned!

[Update 6 Feb 2023] Tom Sachs’ partnership with Nike has been flourishing in the last few years. Every drop seemingly impossible to get on retail, selling out almost immediately. With the imminent release of the Brown GPS, news have surfaced that the University Gold makeup will be on its tail. No firm release date has been disclosed but the rumor mill has them within the spring or summer this year. Stay tuned! Things for the “boring” shoe is about to get interesting.

[Update 23 Nov 2022] Official on-foot look at the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe has been released for better visualization. The forthcoming colorway is anticipated to go live in 2023 for US$110 through Nike.

[Update 9 Nov 2022] Though release dates are still obscure, closer looks at this new Tom Sachs x Nike General Purpose Shoe with a fresh yellow Swoosh has been provided by @sneakerknockerzllc and @prvt.selection. As expected, the accent colors are the star of the show this time around, with other elements remaining relatively the same as its OG predecessor. Take a look at these new photos in the slider above!

As an artist, no doubt Tom Sachs will have his own eccentricities and idiosyncrasies. These personality traits will eventually manifest in his artistry and his creations; and true to his nature, they’re reflected clearly on his Nike General Purpose Shoe.

Thus far, the model has gone against traditional sneaker practices, and much like its designer has a very peculiar nature. It has oddly appeared on the shelves of some local Kohl’s, considering how coveted these pairs are and how much they go for in the resale market. There have other colorways that have surfaced online but has seen no releases yet. And such might be the titular shoe.

The pair in discussion arrives in a similar construction as its predecessors, forming a closer resemblance to the color palette of the first release, save for the yellow Swooshes. White dresses the midsoles and the mesh base, adorned with grey suede overlays on the circumference of the upper and the eye stays. Black goes comes through on the laces, heel tab and outsoles; before finished off with a touch of green on the heel and tongue pull-tabs.

Not much is known about this new GPS colorway at the time of writing, aside from what’s discernible from the leaked image. But should any new information come to light, you’ll hear it from us!

If these are your vibe, perhaps the upcoming Nike Air Pegasus 89 might be too.
