LINE
It seems like Tom Sachs has quite the Midas touch. Everything that he’s put out with Nike seem to be flying off the shelves even faster than toilet paper during the emerging stages of the pandemic. From the Mars Yard 2.0 to the Overshoe, even the recent restock of the cream colorway this month were sold out in minutes.

For what’s supposedly a “boring” shoe, it sure does well in piquing the interest of the community. Possibly because it’s equal parts peculiar and unique. It doesn’t necessitate any of the razzmatazz like the other sneakers of its kind. Like Tom Sachs himself, it just does its own thing. It’s an absolute sigma.

Now looking like a vintage leather couch, the General Purpose Shoe yet continues in the same direction as its predecessors; from its mesh base to the suede overlays on the upper. The tonal brown pair gets a darker cast on the midsole, the laces, and the Swoosh; with a solid black detailing on the outsole and the pull tabs on the tongue and heel.

“Just do it,” Nike said, and the pair just does it—albeit as quietly as possible like the most introverted person in the office.

This is simply a first look at the shoe by way of a leak so there aren’t any official information about the colorway from Tom Sachs or Nike. By assumption, it should go for US$110 as it did for the preceding models.

If these sell out before you can get your hands on them, the Nike Air Huarache “Mowabb” can be a possible substitute.
