[Update 10 Apr 2023] Official images have finally arrived for the “Black Flint” AJ13, just a few weeks ahead of its 22 April release date. They took awhile, but better late than never. There’re also on-feet images courtesy of @yankeekicks to help with your consideration.

[Update 27 Feb 2023] New images of the “Black Flint” AJ13 have surfaced, offering a live look at the pair. In addition to a more angular view, the depiction of its signatures are more vivid like the one of its outsole, showing the “paws” of the panther it’s inspired by. With the emergence of these finished looks by @zsneakerheadz, it’s definitely loaded in the chamber for its 22 April release date.

The titular shoe will be one in the barrage of releases scheduled in the Jumpman’s calendar next year. Its predecessor, the Air Jordan 13 Retro “Flint” is one of the silhouette’s most popular iterations. It’s also one of CLOT head honcho Edison Chen’s favorite pairs, inspiring his latest collaboration with Jordan Brand: the CLOT x Jordan Delta 2.

The hallmarks of the Air Jordan 13 are a mainstay in this iteration. Save for black taking the place of navy in the signature 3M reflective mesh overlay, the rest of the shoe remains largely the same. White leather make up the base layer at the fore, and grey suede at the rear.

The iconic hologram, designed to resemble the hunting eye of the panther stays unmoved on the collar, as does the red Jumpman on the tongue. The sole unit is also unchanged in terms of construction and design, still made to leave a footprint reminiscent of a panther’s paws.

Tinker Hatfield drew plenty of inspiration from Michael Jordan’s “Black Panther” nickname when he designed the pair. With this upcoming Black Flint, the AJ 13 takes more from its black panther influence.

The pair is scheduled to drop on 22 April next year with a price tag of US$200. Should these details remain accurate, get them on SNKRS then.
