It’s been a good first half of the year for Boston-based New Balance. The brand’s catalogue is abounding, with interesting in-line colorways spanning silhouettes and collaborations that complement each other cohesively.

Joe Freshgoods, JJJJound, Issey Miyake, and Kith are just some of the powerhouses that have made their mark on a New Balance model of their choice.

Furthermore, we’ve also seen the resurgence of the New Balance 1000, a silhouette released in 1999 as the solution to footwear that could bear the brunt of trails and running altogether.

At the forefront of this retro takeover is New York City-based fashion label Aimé Leon Dore, with four stunning colorways that include basics in “Black”, “White”, and “Grey”, as well as some other more eclectic ones. Needless to say, there are some stunning general-release colorways in the mix as well.

As the world celebrates New Balance’s glo-up from “dad shoes” to shoes for the fashion-forward amongst us, we would like to take a moment to appreciate some of the—what we believe to be—best drops they’ve had thus far in 2024.

And there you have it. The first half of 2024 has been graced with bangers galore, but the second half might just prove to be the better half. We can expect releases like The Basement x New Balance 1906R collection, the “Dark Green” and “Light Green” Stone Island x New Balance 574 Legacy, and the much-awaited debut of the New Balance 1906L Loafer. Expected colorways include “Grey/Metallic Silver”, “Green”, “Raincloud”, and a capsule with Junya Watanabe MAN. Till then, enjoy expanding your collection!
