JJJJound and New Balance have had a fecund collaborative relationship over the years, with most hitting the mark. For this year, it was the JJJJound x New Balance 991 which we included as a nominee for Sneaker of the Year.

Building upon the minimalist aesthetic that has defined both brands, the JJJJound x New Balance 2002R GORE-TEX boasts a black mesh base contrasted by tonal grey suede overlays. The iconic “N” logo on the profiles, tongue, and sole unit are also rendered in black, further emphasizing the clean and cohesive design. The aforementioned in contrast to the “Black/Green” makeup that surfaced earlier.

A GORE-TEX membrane is discreetly incorporated throughout the shoe, offering superior weatherproofing without compromising on breathability or comfort. This subtle detail perfectly embodies the focus on functionality and practicality that the parties have become synonymous with.

While a confirmed release date hasn’t been announced, the JJJJound x New Balance 2002R GORE-TEX is expected to arrive sometime in 2024. Stay tuned for further information and updates in the coming weeks.
