Yu-Gi-Oh Dragluxion

The recently-released Duelist Pack: Duelists of Brilliance includes cards which are based on three different characters from the Yu-Gi-Oh anime and its spin-offs: Mizar, Seto Kaiba, and Skye Zaizen. One of these cards is the Dragluxion card which is among two cards featured on the set’s cover.

Available in Quarter Century Secret Rare, this card has a striking illustration depicting a retrained version of Number 46: Dragluon. The image shows Dragluon wearing the gold-colored armor plating of Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon. Both allusions are self-referential as this card’s effect enables the Special Summoning of either.

The rays of light emerging from and surrounding Dragluxion directly refer to its LIGHT attribute. Dragluxion’s name also hints that it’s a LIGHT attribute version of Dragluon; the “lux” portion of its name is Latin for “light”.

This card provides support for the Tachyon archetype. Tachyon support is new to the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG, being introduced in Duelist Pack: Duelists of Brilliance. Thus, this card comes with a novelty factor as well, jacking up its value.

This card’s English release date is yet to be determined.

The price of a Dragluxion (Duelist Pack: Duelists of Brilliance DP29-JP004) card is 4,500 JPY (~US$29).
