The Pokémon Legends: Arceus video game introduced the Origin Formes of Dialga, the Legendary of Time, and Palkia, the Legendary of Space. While these two alternate forms were initially regarded as somewhat polarizing, they eventually caught on among the fanbase. Palkia’s Origin Forme made its Pokémon TCG debut in the form of an Origin Forme Palkia V card in the Space Juggler [S10P] set.

To provide a visual effect that calls to mind its space-warping powers, the card’s Full Art illustration depicts Origin Forme Palkia V in a collapsed structure or ruins of some sort with its pillars at angles which according to conventional logic might not make any sense. This makes it seem as though the entire card is tilted at an awkward angle. The checkerboard-patterned floor on the platform upon which Origin Forme Palkia V stands enhances this effect.

Though Origin Forme Palkia V might not be as well-known as its standard form, the fact that it’s a box Legendary gives it a certain reputation within the Pokémon fanbase. The card’s highly unorthodox illustration also adds some novelty.

This card evolves into Palkia VSTAR—a key component of a newer variant of the Gholdengo ex deck. On top of that, Palkia VSTAR, and therefore this card as well, will be reprinted and included as part of the Chien Pao ex Battle Master Deck to be released in May 2024.

The English translation of this card is 167/189 of the Astral Radiance set.

One copy of an Origin Forme Palkia V (Space Juggler [S10P] 071/067) card sells for 7,100 JPY (~US$46).
