[ONE PIECE Card Game] Live by the Sword: Roronoa Zoro Parallel Art (Romance Dawn [OP01-025])
Despite its sizable price tag, this card has recently been selling at quite the clip.
Cards awarded as prizes for Flagship Battle tournament victors are always among the most coveted in the entire ONE PIECE Card Game. Such is true of the Roronoa Zoro Parallel Art card, an alternate-art version of the card first released in Romance Dawn [OP-01]. However, what makes this case particularly interesting is the fact that it’s seen a serious uptick in sales recently.
This card was first awarded to winners of Flagship Battle tournaments from May to June 2023. While there have been several cards since which share this exclusive status, this Roronoa Zoro Parallel Art card recently saw a major spike in product sales.
What makes this fact interesting is that this jump wasn’t mirrored by any of the other Flagship Battle tournament prize cards except for one—the Dracule Mihawk Parallel Art card which was a Parallel Art form of another Romance Dawn [OP-01] card.
The card’s illustration depicts the “Pirate Hunter” simultaneously wielding all three of his swords—a nod to the “Three Sword Style” of combat which Zoro himself created and coined the term for. The blades that surround the multi-colored background of the card further highlight Zoro’s status as the master swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates.
A Roronoa Zoro (OP01-025) card has already been released in English, but not in this Parallel Art form.
The price of a Roronoa Zoro Parallel Art (Romance Dawn [OP01-025]) card is very high, as might be expected of a card first issued as a Flagship Battle tournament prize. One copy goes for 250,000 JPY (~US$1,652).
