The Pokémon TCG’s next major international expansion set release has now been finalized. Twilight Masquerade [TWM], which will contain English translations of cards from the Japanese Crimson Haze [SV5a] and Mask of Change [SV6] expansion sets, will be launched on 22 May 2024; there will also be prereleases between 11 and 19 May 2024.
Like its Japanese counterparts, Twilight Masquerade [TWM] will be primarily centered around Pokémon featured in The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk—the two DLCs from the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet video games. Featured Pokémon will include those which made their series debuts in the DLC such as Ogerpon, Sinistcha, and Bloodmoon Ursaluna.
Each of Ogerpon’s four masked forms will be depicted on a Twilight Masquerade [TWM] card. All masked Ogerpon cards are Tera Pokémon-ex.
The card breakdown of Twilight Masquerade [TWM] is as follows:
- 167 cards (excluding secret rares)
- 6 ACE SPEC / Special Energy cards
- 7 Pokémon-ex including Bloodmoon Ursaluna, Scream Tail, Iron Thorns, Sinistcha, and three other cards to be revealed
- 7 Tera Pokémon-ex including Dragapult, Magcargo, Greninja, and all four masked Ogerpon forms
- 21 illustration rare Pokémon
- 11 special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards
- 6 hyper rare gold etched cards
- At least 30 Trainer cards
Though unconfirmed, it appears likely that the 48 unique cards from the Japanese Battle Academy sets won’t be part of Twilight Masquerade [TWM]. Instead, they’ll be added to its English counterpart.
No price details for Twilight Masquerade [TWM] have yet been confirmed. Stay tuned for further information.
