Mythical Pokémon have fittingly featured on some Pokémon TCG cards that rank among the series’ most powerful, becoming staples of the metagame. One such card is this Genesect V card from the Fusion Arts [S8] expansion set.

PLANETA Tsuji’s Full Art illustration of this Secret Rare (SR) card portrays the Paleozoic Pokémon in a ferocious, menacing pose primed for combat. The artwork thus adds to the menacing aura that the card—as well as the Pokémon it depicts—embodies.

This card is ideal for setup, allowing the player to draw as many cards as the player has Fusion Strike Pokémon in play via its Fusion Strike System ability. It forms a near-ideal pairing with the Mew VMAX Fusion Arts [S8] card that continues to run rampant across the Pokémon TCG meta. For this reason, it’s been a staple of many of the most successful decks of recent times.

The English version of Genesect V is card 254/264 of the Fusion Strike set.

Despite its SR rarity and high level of gameplay utility, the Genesect V (Fusion Arts [S8] 108/100) card is very affordable. One copy of this card goes for ¥1,250 (~US$8.50).
