Cecilie Bahnsen Debuts New ASICS GEL-QUANTUM at Paris Fashion Week
A delicate balance of everyday functionality and youthful femininity.
Cecilie Bahnsen’s partnership with ASICS has always hit its mark, with the Copenhagen-based designer striking a delicate balance between everyday functionality and a youthful, feminine look. Case in point: her most recent ASICS GT-2160, reinventing the traditional Mary Jane shoes.
At her Spring/Summer 2024 showcase at Paris Fashion Week, Bahnsen previewed the latest Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS model, a subtle twist on the Japanese sportswear brand’s GEL-QUANTUM; dressed in all-black while dotted with small black flowers, each with a beaded center.
Although the designer didn’t deviate too much from the GEL-QUANTUM’s blueprint, she added a few original embellishments to create a shoe that is both functional, feminine, and fashion-forward. Unfortunately for ardent fans, the pair will only be launched in 2024 in a limited run of 50 pairs, all handmade in her studio.
Confirmed by the designer herself on the label’s Instagram, keep a lookout for the rare pairs early next year on ceciliebahnsen.com. Stay tuned for a firm release date and more images!
