[Update 28 Jul 2023] It is here: the Barbie x Vans collection first teased yesterday, in all of its Barbie pink glory. Four different Vans sneakers make up this official Barbie x Vans team-up, namely: an Authentic Stackform, a Sk8-Hi Stackform, a mary jane-esque Style 93 DX and a slide.

The Barbie x Vans shoes feature a myriad of pink shades, alongside trippy 90s prints, and each pair comes complete with a Barbie packaging-inspired shoe box. There’s also a collection of matching apparel for ardent Barbie fans. The Barbie x Vans collection is now available for sale on Vans, prices start from US$40 for a crop top, going up to US$115 for the sneakers.

The world is always blue but in the pop culture realm lately, the world has been hot and hot pink. Barbie, in addition to Oppenheimer, has been dominating the mainstream conversation. Many brands have jumped on the bandwagon with their own iterations of pink-related products. Nike have a few of their own, pinkifying the Dunk Low and Air Max Scorpion, as do Crocs.

But like the latter, the only party thus far with an official collaboration is Vans. The collection is still an enigma with both parties keeping mum about the specifics. Given that pink is Barbie’s hallmark colorway, it’s safe to assume a few models will be subsumed into the collection.

For what it’s worth, Vans have teased in their official Instagram account a few images. Therein are Vans staples like the Authentic and Knu Skool along with a range of apparel, all embellished with the IP’s motif. They’ve opened up registration for a mailing list to receive updates but sources purport they’ll be released sometime in July.
