Christmas might be the most wonderful time of the year, but Halloween’s the most thrilling—especially with the slew of themed releases from the biggest sportswear and lifestyle brands. But somewhere in the precipice, a veteran custom sneaker artist that goes by the name of MACHE will be “Outdone by None”, as his slogan goes.

His Halloween sneaker turns his own Mache Runner as a canvas and gives it a blazing, flaming makeover reminiscent of an ’80s horror icon. Although not officially licensed by the Nightmare on Elm Street film franchise, this might be the closest we’ll ever get to acquiring a pair that so closely resembles the mythic Nike SBs of the same pedigree.

Following the design cues of one Freddy Kruger and his outfit, the upper is constructed with a red and olive base while tan leather overlays, embellished with faux blood splatters, envelop the perimeter and the eye stays. The artist’s signature is embroidered on the tongue with reflective 3M strips resting on the vamp and the heel. The top is finished off with a cozy sock liner and right underfoot, is an off-white midsole, and a menacing crimson Vibram outsole.

To accompany the release, Mache linked up with fellow designer @freakorico for an Ivory “Don’t Sleep” t-shirt. The apparel has imprinted “MACHEGANG” on the left chest with a custom graphic of the eponymous slasher on the back.

Dig your “claws” into the Mache Runner “Don’t Sleep”  as well as the tee come 14th October on MacheCustoms. They’re scheduled to arrive before All Hallows’ Eve comes around. A price point has been set at US$300 and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis—so make haste.

In other horror-themed releases, Nike drops their own Nike Blazer Low ’77 “Halloween/Phantom” for your Thriller night fit.
