[Update 14 Mar 2024] In Japan, the Nike Air More Uptempo Slide “Bulls” had an early release on 13 March 2024 on Nike.com, and is slated for general release on 15 March 2024. At a reasonable price point of 12,430 JPY (~US$84), the pair is a pleasantly surprising reimagining of the Scottie Pippen Air More Uptempo Slide.

Summer’s here and there’s no better time in the year for slides. Many brands in the space have delivered there own take on the footwear but Nike’s gambit is one of the strongest. It’s a pleasantly surprising reimagining of one of their most quintessentially ’90s silhouette: Scottie Pippen’s Air More Uptempo Slide.

The colorway is an obvious homage to the Chicago Bulls, the colorway a staple in the Swoosh’s catalogue. All of the Air More Uptempo’s hallmarks are a mainstay, albeit in a new placement adapting to the silhouette’s new slip-on form. Nevertheless, the large imposing “AIR” on the profiles remain as eye-catching as they are in the parent model.

They were an Asia exclusive at the time of its original release in 2005 as part of the “Hoop Pack”. They reemerged once more in 2021 but it’s sabbatical from the shelves won’t be too long as they’re purported to return this year.
