The New Balance 997R, a retrofitting of the 997 that debuted in 1991, has emerged in multiple new colorways just in time for the summer. The pair-in-question is a more affordable version of the mainline 997, catered to a younger, more budget-conscious demographic.

The model’s hallmarks are a mainstay through its mesh base layer and suede overlays. Off White, Yellow, Green, and other hues address the pairs in the upcoming release. Typically New Balance, an “aged” aesthetic is integrated with the midsoles, a display of the Boston shoemaker’s cognizance of what their fans expect.
