Onitsuka Tiger’s Mexico 66 has been a brand staple for over half a century. And recently, the Japanese legacy brand released five new pairs of the model in their “MEXICO 66 CACTFUL” collection.

For its latest iteration, its iconic design elements are a mainstay but its composition has been overhauled, for the first time using materials derived from Mexican cacti, with more environmental considerations in its production process.

20% of the materials used Mexican cactus while integrated with other biomaterials. This was achieved with help from DESSERTO’s engineers, a company established in Mexico that specializes in eco-friendly production methods. The result: Five pairs of vegan leather shoes uniformly dressed in White, Green, Blue, Purple, and Yellow.

They’re currently available in Onitsuka Tiger’s website now for 16,500 JPY (~US$116).
