The Latest New Balance 9060 Comes Dressed in Purple “Mercury”
The Boston shoemaker's take on retrofuturism.
While New Balance has been propelled to public attention by their back catalogue, it’s their latest models that’s keeping them at the fore. One of which is the 9060. A model that amalgamates the ’90s and ’00s 990 and 860 models.
Many collaborators have taken on the pair like Joe Freshgoods and Bricks & Wood. Between them are a bevy of inline releases with the most recent being the titular “Mercury” colorway. The pair is predominantly dressed in purple Mercury up top with a color shift gradually moving from black on the midsole, to the Rouge accents below. As far as its construction, it retains its suede overlays and dual-toned mesh base layer. The translucent heel mold isn’t left out either, as are the “N” logos on the profiles.
There isn’t a release date disclosed yet but they’re expected to arrive sometime within the year with an RRP of 19,800 JPY (~US$140). Enjoy the product images above as we await more details to emerge!
