The New Balance 998 Returns in Its OG Gray Colorway
In celebration of the silhouette's 30th anniversary.
The New Balance 998 has a long-running history, much like many of its 990 series siblings. Specifically, 2023 marks the silhouette’s 30th anniversary, and the Boston-based shoemakers have not held back. Coming off of the Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 998 “Broadacre City” collaboration a few weeks ago, the brand is now ready to present the New Balance 998 in its OG Gray colorway.
While not exactly a 1:1 replication of the 1993 debut design, this upcoming offering sees the iconic New Balance-approved Gray adorning much of the 998’s suede upper. A darker shade accentuates parts of the sneaker, while reflective silver “N” logos and heel tab create a striking feature. A small hint of blue can also be found on the midsole and outsole underfoot.
