A Clean Nike Air Max 97 Arrives With a Worn Look
Along with 3M reflective detailing on its uppers.
The Nike Air Max 97 has always been a silhouette that exudes a sense of luxury among its siblings in Nike’s locker. Named after its debut year, Christian Tresser’s masterpiece recently celebrated its 25th anniversary with the reissue of its OG colorway, the “Silver Bullet”. Now, Nike looks set to continue the celebrations with a new rendition of the timeless sneaker.
This latest Nike Air Max 97 comes dressed in a clean “Light Bone” makeup. Various shades of white and cream occupy many mesh layers on the uppers, giving off a clean aesthetic at first glance. This mix of colors is repeated on the sole unit, with white taking on the midsole while the same creamy hue occupies the exposed bubble unit and outsole underfoot.
A pre-worn finish adorns the fabric mudguard, giving the Air Max 97 an exclamation point on its otherwise tonal hues. Reflective 3M detailing has been added to the top most layers of the uppers to ensure it shines even at night. It’s a perfect way to describe the legacy of the Air Max 97—an elegant silhouette that can withstand even the test of time.
