The Air Jordan 1 Low “Blue Stitch” Is for the Children

ODB once said in the '98 Grammys, "Wu-Tang is for the children." So are these exclusive pair of AJ1s.

There’s probably a part of you, when you saw the thumbnail to this article, that wondered how you could pull these off. A sky blue colorway could go with many things: some denim, grey sweatpants, a light-colored top, etc. Unless you have kids you’d want to buy these for, then we’d have to burst your bubble. The “Blue Stitch” is a kids’ exclusive.

The concept was previously applied to the Mids in a predominantly white upper. In the midst of the summer season, Nike has hit us with a barrage of vibrant colorways from basketball sneakers to lifestyle shoes. Even though spring is right around the corner, days are still as bright and beautiful. Embodying this sentiment are these new Air Jordan 1 Lows.

Embroidery serves as the pencil and brush in the Blue Stitch, depicting a calm and relaxing landscape over a sky blue canvas. On the lateral side, we see orange over green, representing the sun’s rays and the grass. On the medial is a half-crescent moon and its circular radiance in white. And tonal blue stitching of a grass pattern circumscribe them from the mudguards to the heel.

Branding elements are not amiss in this picture. White Swooshes complement the blue upper, as do the orange tongue tag and the Wings logo on the heel complement the green laces. The white midsole serves as the easel to the canvas, supported by the blue outsole.

The pair will be released on August 24th, 10AM (ET) on Nike.com. They’re priced at US$95 for grade school sizing and US$50 for toddlers.

If you’re looking for an adult pair with a similar color scheme, check out the Nike Air Max 1 Premium “Mineral Slate”.
