‘Rick and Morty’ Returns to Puma With New MB.02 Design
Following the success of their first collaboration on the MB.01.
Almost exactly a year after their first collaboration, LaMelo Ball has called up his old friends in Rick and Morty to once again work on a new design, this time on his newer Puma MB.02 series. Their first partnership released to great fanfare in February last year, and the second iteration promises to live up to similar levels of hype.
Similar to the duo’s first team-up, this Rick and Morty x Puma MB.02 comes in a mismatched color blocking. As denoted by the graphics on the tongue tab, the right shoe is inspired by Morty, with a gradual mix of volt and neon pink washing over the upper. Besides his face appearing on the tongue, one of his signature phrases “Get Your Sh*t Together” is also stamped on the inner side of the tongue, and another imagery of Morty’s face is stamped on the insole.
Rick appears on the other, with neon purple and green mashing together in a similar scheme as the right. His catchphrase, “Wubba Lubba Dub Dub!” shares the same positioning as Morty’s in the same shade of green as the upper. Rick’s face also appears on the tongue and insole. Both pairs also carry the Rick and Morty logo on the toe box, both in their respective color blocking.
Black webbed overlays wrap around both shoes, a mainstay of the MB.02 silhouette. “M.E.L.O.” appears at its regular positioning on the heel on both shoes, signifying the man behind the signature series.
The Rick and Morty x Puma MB.02 officially releases on 17th February on Puma’s website and select retailers, at a retail price of US$140.
