38 years ago, Miami Vice aired in homes across America and TV as they knew it, changed forever; Miami, the city, became synonymous with neon lights and palm trees. As groundbreaking as the show was for its heavy integration of pop music, stylistic editing and visual effects, it also became a tastemaker in the world of fashion: loafers without socks, blazers over t-shirts, and the pastel colors that everyone associates with Vice City.

For their sophomore collaboration, they take inspiration from the aesthetic of the show and inject it into Puma’s Slipstream Lo and Blaze of Glory for their new “Ocean Drive” Pack.

OVERKILL went for the soft, premium white leather upper of the Slipstream Lo as one of their canvases. The Puma formstripe dressed in light blue suede with pink trimmings leading up to the pair’s linings. Miami Vice-inspired details decorate the pair on the dubrae, tongue, and collar with the dual-branded logos imprinted on the heels and insoles.

The Blaze of Glory features a more complex construction than the Slipstream with a multi-material makeup consisting of smooth leather, suede, nylon, and pinstripe mesh—thus, the more vibrant palette. Much of the upper is kept in light blue, a nod to protagonist Sonny Crockett’s wardrobe, with various pink overlays at every third of the shoe. Collab-specific insignias gets its time in the sun through the dubrae, tongue, and heel.

Both pairs will come with extra laces and accessories in a collab-custom box; with the latter pair having a unique triangular one. The collaboration is part of a collection of apparel which you can see more of in the images below.

The “Ocean Drive” collection will be available in OVERKILL’s online store from 18th September. The Sliptstream Lo will have a price tag of €120 (≈US$122) and the Blaze of Glory for €150 (≈US$152).

Check out the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Mid “Black Grape”, a new colorway you could wear as you walk into a Vice City club.
