It will first drop globally via HAL STUDIOS’ website on 18 August, followed by a subsequent release via ASICS on 25 August. Good luck to those looking to cop!

[Update 6 Jul 2023] A bevy of new photos have just surfaced of the HAL STUDIOS x ASICS GEL-1130 MK III! It’s the clearest look at the pair yet, more so than the official campaign images released earlier. In addition, new information purports that the pair will be released in July. Stay tuned!

[Update 13 Jun 2023] Some new images of the HAL STUDIOS x ASICS GEL-1130 MK III “Glacier” have surfaced. While a firm release date hasn’t been disclosed, they are expected to arrive within the year with an RRP of US$190. After HAL STUDIOS and ASICS unearthed a GEL-1130 MK-II “Forest” collaboration last year, the pair has remained relatively low key on their partnership. But it seems like their quiet front only meant that greater things were brewing in the backroom — and account @le.syndrome has parted the curtains to claim that a new HAL STUDIOS x ASICS has been spotted in a Paris showroom.

Unlike the incoming GEL-1130 MK-II that utilised an earthy palette derived from the lush nature around Shinto shrines, this speculated pair dresses itself in a monochromatic white/black composition. A white sporty mesh is overlaid with suede streaks in the same color scheme.

The use of suede is a similar trait between the Forest iteration and this showroom-spotted pair,  though the white version has dialled back on the material’s hairiness. Hits of black leather arrive as accents on near the toebox and upwards into the eyelets. The dubrae and lace loops, too, take on this deep color.

That’s pretty much all that is known about this newest HAL STUDIOS x ASICS pair. Visually, it’s easy on the eyes and assimilates nicely into the present-day’s ironic fascination with the past — or, to put it simply, it has the aesthetic makings of a Dad shoe.
