Earth to HAL STUDIOS x ASICS GEL-1130 MK-II “Forest”

Figuratively, a down-to-earth design. From their first outing on the GEL-1130 called “Earth”, and now "Forest".

[Update 14 Apr 2023] Per the update earlier, a global release has been set. The pair will be available once more on HAL STUDIOS’ website on 18 April with a wider drop at ASICS’ happening globally at a later date. Stay tuned!

[Update 4 Apr 2023] For fans who missed out on the first release last year, you will be glad to hear that a global release for the HAL STUDIOS x ASICS GEL-1130 MK-II “Forest” will be coming soon. While an exact date has yet to be confirmed, expect it to be within the coming months. We’ll be sure to update you here once we receive word of the date, but in the meantime check out official images of the pair via the top slider above.

[Update 5 Oct 2022] The “Forest” GEL-1130 will be made available through the HAL STUDIOS Advance Order Platform on 5 October at 4 a.m. ET prior to its general release in 2023. Orders will be taken for 48 hours, closing on 7 October.

Successful advance purchases will be fulfilled prior to the general release in the second quarter of 2023. The platform will close once the maximum allotment has been reached as production is restricted to limited pairs.

HAL STUDIOS®, the design arm of Australian boutique Highs and Lows, link up with ASICS again for their sophomore collaboration. Once more on the same GEL-1130 canvas, they follow it up this time with a darker reimagining. While the first pair, thematically called “Earth” makes obvious their inspiration, its successor takes it from the color palette of the “Forest”, aptly named so—particularly the lush greens that surround the Shinto shrines in Japan.

The mesh base lay the groundwork for the grey slate overlays to take root on the upper. These overlays of mixed materials, one in leather and others suede, bloom with the colors of its provenance: forest green, brown, beige, and black.

The forest green appearing on the oversized ASICS branding on the lateral as well as the tip. The brown, on the leather strip that traverses underneath the aforementioned logo from the fore of the eyestays to the heel. Orange accents, the renderings of the Shinto shrines, takes its place on the heel and the insoles. The pair will be offered with complementary socks in forest green and brown.

Information is sparse at the time of writing with no release date being announced yet. But rest assured you’ll hear it from us once we get word through the grapevine.

Here’s another recent ACISCS collaboration if they’re you’re cup of tea, check out the Nice Kicks x ASICS GEL-Lyte III OG “Black Sesame”.
