New Jeans: New Balance 2002R “Denim Pack”
The popular New Balance lifestyle model gets the denim treatment—in three different shades.
Amidst a slew of attention-grabbing FW2023 collabs, New Balance has quietly dropped a new 2002R “Denim Pack”.
The New Balance 2002R took the sneakersphere by storm when it first launched two years ago and has defied all odds to remain as one of the footwear brand’s most popular offerings, constantly reinventing itself with new styles and colorways.
The recently-arrived 2002R “Denim Pack” consists of three pairs—Atlantic Blue, Sea Salt and Black—with the titular fabric acting as the common thread. Blue, white and black denim are deployed as the base on the uppers, then topped off with suede overlays in similar shades of blue, white and black, much like this earlier Levi’s x New Balance 990v3. The “N” logos at the sides also receive the same tonal treatment.
An interesting design twist is the brown leather heel tab that the Boston house has added to all three pairs. And, as with all NB 2002R models, the trio comes complete with NB’s Stability Web and ABZORB and N-ERGY cushioning.
The New Balance 2002R “Denim Pack” definitely won’t be the last of the silhouette you see from NB this year, but if you are a fan of denim, the pack is already available for purchase at a retail price of US$140.
