The Nike Air Jordan 2 WMNS “Muslin” Continues Its Momentum Into the New Year

The AJ 2 rides with the inertia it's built from the last year.

Here’s a formula for a revival: Find an oft-forgotten silhouette, engage a collaborator, summon hype, then proceed with inline releases. Thus far, it’s been true for the Air Adjust Force with AMBUSH, it’s been true for the Zoom Vomero 5 with A-COLD-WALL, and it’s been true for the Air Jordan 2; with its numerous collaborations in the past year, such as its iterations with Union LA, J BalvinDetroit’s Two 18South Africa’s Shelflife, and Manila’s TITAN. It’s drawn a lot of eyes in 2022, warming the iron for it to strike even harder into the next.

At the vanguard of this movement is the titular colorway. Dressed in Sail, Sunset Haze, Muslin, and Light Steel Grey, it sits well on the trending palate for neutral tones and the vintage aesthetic. The materials are from its general make with leather forming the upper as it sits atop a pre-aged midsole.

Muslin forms the base layer with Sunset Haze accenting the pair on the trimmings on the tongue, the Wings logo on it, and more prominently on the overlays that run from the quarter to the heel. A scaled finish on those panels elevates the design. Underfoot, Light Steel Grey takes over the forefoot of the outsole, framing the earlier-mentioned Sunset Haze, before relinquishing control to the latter on the rear.

Find the pair on SNKRS from 26 January with a price tag of US$175.
