[Update 27 Jan 2023] New on-feet photos have recently emerged thanks to the ever-reliable @yankeekicks on Instagram. Through these new set of photos we get a more detailed look at some of its construction, utilising various materials such as patent leather, suede and marble mix across the overlays of the silhouette. [Update 5 Jan 2023] For those excited about the pair, more images have come to light. Although not official ones, it does give a multifaceted and detailed view. Its most notable features, most vivid. That includes the Ben-Day dots and the achromatic spheres adjacent, along with the stonewash finish on the heel counter and mudguard.

[Update 14 Dec 2022] In-hand images have been caught on the interweb recently. The new set of photos depict the shoe in what is possibly its final form. They’re more vivid, providing a more angular and detailed look at its multi-material construction and varied finishes.

[Update 05 Dec 2022] Images of the highly-anticipated pair have surfaced, courtesy of @Mr_Unloved1s. It’s completely different from the earlier mockup. The leaked photos depict the titular shoe in the quintessential “Chicago” color-blocking, but the signature red overlays seems to be the only mainstay.

Over to the rear sees the collar in black patent leather. Presiding below it, indubitably the hallmark, adopts a polychromatic motif in the film: the Ben-Day dots, most apparent during the mid-dimension scenes. Soft spherical reds, yellows, and teals share the space, capturing the eyes the same way it did on the big screen. Further down, the heel counter is split between a marble finish and a solid red leather.

The pair’s expected to arrive on 20 May, 2023, along with a full-family ensemble, and a RRP of US$200.

Best Animated Feature Film at the 2019 Oscars; Sunflower from its soundtrack, nominated for Record of the Year at the Grammys, those amongst a long list of accolades. 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse—animated or not—was easily one of the best films to come out of the decade. While the film, its narrative, animation and score captured the attention of many, there was one more element that showed out: the shoes, the Nike Air Jordan 1 worn by protagonist, Miles Morales.

Although an animation, many wanted the pair in reality as soon as they saw it on screen. To everyone’s delight, Nike heard and Nike delivered. The pair flew across the shelves as as soon as it arrived. And with the release of the sequel film, it was an obvious decision that a sequel pair is also in order.

The curtains were pulled by reputable sneaker leaker @zsneakerheadz on social media, revealing a mockup. The AJ 1 canvas remains the same for the followup, save for some tweaks. The red leather overlays a mainstay, but the base of the shoe now closely resembles the titular hero’s costume, having established his standing as a hero by the end of the film.

The toe box, quarter, and ankle collar arrives in black imprinted with a web detailing, as seen in the entire franchise. The profile Swooshes come adorned in white, complementary to the midsoles. Whereas its predecessor featured a “Photon Blue” outsole underfoot, this pair goes for the classic “Bred” color palette. Obviously, the actual pair may differ slightly, but the leak does well enough to whet appetites.

There’re no other information about the shoes at the time of writing. But with the film scheduled for a June 2023 release date, it can be expected the pair’s will coincide with it.
