[Update 19 Jun 2023] It seems like we are actually expecting a release on 16 September for the Nike Air Jordan 1 High OG “Palomino”. While we await official images to arrive, take a look at the latest on-foot shots shared by @dsdan1 on the article slider above.

[Update 28 Apr 2023] Retail photos of the Nike Air Jordan 1 High OG “Palomino” have recently surfaced. Take a better look at the upcoming pair via the top slider above as we await its 2 September release date.

[Update 23 Mar 2023] More images have emerged credited to @fkzsnkrs. Some in-hand shots were recently shared, but today we seem them in action. These new looks preview the pair on-feet. Official images should come to light soon. It’s an eventuality.

[Update 22 Mar 2023] Months ago, @zsneakerheadz broke the story of these “Palomino” AJ1s, and more images have emerged since then. Although none of them are official product photos, these leaks do provide enough to discern what the final form will take.

Black will make the base of the shoes with Palomino nubuck landing on the toebox and overlays at the rear. These include the profile Swooshes, heel counter, and ankle collar where the Jordan Wings logo take up real estate. Metallic Gold adds a nice finish through the “Nike Air” branding on the tongue tag.

If nothing else changes, get this pair on 16 September for US$180 on SNKRS.

LINE

The Air Jordan 1 High OG is the archetypal sneaker. It’s a thoroughbred through and through, especially with the upcoming “Palomino” iteration. The name loosely inspired by the horses that bear a similar coating.

Based on the mockup, the titular shoe stays true to form. It sticks closely to the blueprint, save for the the material choices and palette. Suede leads the construction with the color-blocking reminiscent of Travis Scott’s. The Sail midsoles aside, brown and black dress the shoe on the upper with the former taking all the real estate on the outsole underfoot.

Black forms the base layer as seen on the quarter, tongue, and liner. It does go beyond its calling too serving as overlays on the mudguard, eyestays, and laces, as well as the Jordan Wings logo on the collar. For contrast comes brown, prominently placed on the toe box, the ankle jacket and heel. Lest we forget, the profile Swooshes. As a finishing touch, comes the Metallic Gold Nike branding on the tongue tag.

Find them on SNKRS on 16 September next year with a RRP of US$180. Considering how far removed it is from the time of writing, the details are all tentative. New images will surface as the release date becomes more imminent.
