Puma Suede & Roma gets Slimed by Nickelodeon in New Collection
Sure to make a splash.
Reuniting with past partners seem to be on Puma’s Christmas wish list. With a second JJJJound x Puma Suede collaboration making its way to retail shelves, Nickelodeon has also been contacted by the German company for a sequel to their “Slime” collection, this time on the Puma Suede and Roma silhouettes.
With neon green slime practically synonymous with Nickelodeon, it’s not surprising to see that this motif has been splashed onto the Puma Formstrip of both silhouettes. It even features a dripping effect — a nod to the numerous sliming that happen on Nickelodeon’s game shows. A blob of slime has also been splattered onto the tongue, with Puma’s logo is stamped onto the gooey substance. Both pairs also feature mismatched insoles, with one side featuring Puma’s wordmark in dripping slime font and the other with “Nickelodeon Slime” printed in similar style.
Keeping the slime as the central element, the Puma Suede adopts a deep black on its front and a smooth white on the pack, with the slimed Formstrip as a demarcating line. The heel tab features the brand’s logo in the quintessential “Neon Lime” color. The laces come complete with a trippy pattern while an icy blue gum sole rounds out the design.
On the other hand, the Puma Roma adopts an overall white leather base but with “Neon Lime” accents on the lining and sole. It’s the deceivingly simpler option of the two — the simplicity of the base accentuates the slime-mimicking elements, making the shoe arguably louder than its Suede counterpart.
This Nickelodeon x Puma Suede & Roma “Slime” Collection is available on the Puma website from December 21. Retail prices will be made available on its drop.
In other funky collaborations, Jeremy Scott makes it rain on the adidas Superstar.
