Joshua Vides x PUMA Hoops Collection: Marrying Culture and Sport

Joshua Vides has been "drawing" a lot of eyes lately to his work, even more after this Puma Hoops Collection.

Puma and California-based visual artist Joshua Vides have been making plenty of big moves lately. The former just released a new LaMelo Ball signature and the latter, has actually been making a lot of noise in the art world as well as the lifestyle sphere, through his several collaborations with some of the footwear industry’s biggest names: Converse, New Balance, and Suicoke. It’s almost inevitable that their two paths would converge, and it finally has.

Vides’ signature bold outlines run through the entirety of the basketball-themed collection, a style that has been—aptly—”drawing” a lot of eyes lately. His trademark “Cone” logo is a mainstay in all the sneaker offerings on the tongue tags of the Blaze of Glory, TRC Blaze, and the TRC Blaze Court.

On the accompanying apparel—particularly the hoodie and sweatpants—his linemark motif traces the rubber outlines of a standard basketball. A crewneck sweater and tee, on the other hand, depicts a sketch of the ball player aesthetic from days past—70s thigh-length shorts and all.

Rising basketball star Mikey Williams is engaged as the face of the campaign as seen in the photos below. The Joshua Vides x PUMA Hoops Collection will be released on 22nd September at Puma’s, Joshua Vides’, and Foot Locker’s webstore. Prices will range from US$35 to US$130.
