Right now, the earth of the sneaker landscape is at its most fecund for the Air Jordan 2. For a long time, the silhouette was overshadowed by both its predecessor and successor in the 1s and 3s. But with the palette of the market showing more favor for the vintage aesthetic, the iron is searing and the AJ 2 is meeting it with a hammer.

Over the white base layer comes an off-white suede collar, where the titular “Cherrywood” surrounds it from the heel counter, the interior lining, the branding on the tongue, before trailing off across the lining from the midfoot to the toe box. Once more it makes its presence underfoot on the heel of the outsole, sharing the space with the Steel Grey at the fore. Connecting the aforementioned detailing is a clean White midsole.

Compared to other retro Jordan releases scheduled for 2023, this one doesn’t have a specified release date just yet but it is estimated to arrive in the summer of next year. Expect them to surface on SNKRS then with a RRP of US$150.

For such a versatile canvas of a silhouette, of course there would be more colorways. Perhaps the Air Jordan 2 “Varsity Blue” is more to your liking.
