If Reebok is starting to see a resurgence in recent times, that would be in large part thanks to Maison Margiela, who changed the perception of the British shoemaker from Bolton by putting them through a high fashion lens. The designer, by imbedding his own signature into the DNA of some of Reebok’s classics, has transformed them from brand staples, into highly-coveted footwear.

The design house has been at the fore of the avant-garde movement in fashion with their pioneering deconstructionist, and upscaling MO. And if Reebok is falling behind in the race, there’s no better partner to pass the baton to than someone who’s ahead of their curve.

Some products of the collaboration have produced some experimental pieces: the Tabi Instapump Fury, the Tabi Classic Leather, and the trompe-l’œil on the Club C. Together, they’ve also introduced the “Memory Of” collection earlier this year, offering a reimagining of older silhouettes.

The newest inductee to the pack would be the Instapump Fury. While it’s not a pair hitherto untouched, the silhouette returns in two of its OG colorways in “Citron” and “Echo Blue”, foregoing the previous triple-white and triple-black color palette. The familiarity becomes uncanny by way of the design house’s deconstructionist take on the two pairs, exposed foam and all.

The Maison Margiela x Reebok Instapump Fury will be available on Reebok.com and select retailers from 21st October with a price tag of US$400.

In other silhouettes revived, check out the old but gold New Balance 1906R “New Vintage” Pack.
