Old but Gold: New Balance 1906R “New Vintage” Pack
What was old is new and gold again with this New Balance 1906R duo.
With the success of several coveted collaborations, such as the three-way 1906R teamup between New Balance, N.HOOLYWOOD and INVINCIBLE, New Balance is now readying more inline models from its 1906R range. Coming up next—two pairs of vintage-inspired New Balance 1906R, the 1906R “White/Green” and “White/Grey”, that expend on the trendy retro aesthetic.
The vintage pre-aged trend has invaded the sneaker world, and this inspiration shows on these two pairs (though New Balance might also have been inspired by their highly successful thisisneverthat collab). Appearing as part of the “New Vintage” pack, the uppers on this duo are built using white breathable mesh and topped off with a layer of leather overlay, also in white. One pair features deep green accents, while the other leans towards neutral grey and silver tones.
The pre-aged aesthetic influence is apparent with both pairs sporting yellowed midsoles; the NB 1906R “White/Green” features a gum outsole, while the “White/Grey” has a black outsole.
The Boston footwear brand also made sure that this well-loved running silhouette from the 2000s continues to feature some of its most innovative tech, including ABZORB and N-ergy cushioning, as well as a TPU heel guard and the “N Lock” lacing system.
Retailing for US$150 each, the New Balance 1906R “New Vintage” pack will drop on 15 October. If you missed out on the thisisneverthat collab, now’s your chance to cop a similar pair!
