Kiko Kostadinov is Making 2023 Plans with Asics

Kiko Kostadinov and Asics dish out yet another functional and aesthetic pair, only to have us biting our nails 'till 2023.

[Update 16 Feb 2023] It’s been a long wait but wait no further, a release of the Kiko Kostadinov x ASICS is finally on the horizon. Officially known as the Kiko Kostadinov x ASICS GEL-QUANTUM ZIENTZIA, mark your calendars for 28 February as the pair will be pre-releasing via Kiko Kostadinov.

No additional details of the apparel are announced yet, but do stay tuned for more future updates here. In the meantime, subscribe to Kiko Kostadinov’s newsletter for more updates on release timings.

New year, new project. As we enter the later half of 2022, Kiko Kostadinov is gearing up for the upcoming year by making an appointment with long-time partner Asics. Trusty @le.syndrome has yet again provided a sneak peek of what’s to come for the pair, and it seems like it has something to do with their teased Hysteric Glamour collab.

In the teased triple team effort, a pink-hued pair with flared out soles was revealed. What we initially thought was a special silhouette for the partnership has now been extended into a 2023 project, with a new colorway readied up. Specifically, a sporty Black/Navy Blue mix.

The gel-like chunky sole has its back half dipped in a deep blue hue while the front takes on a greyish  black. Above, black is the predominant color and is accented with silver touches. Kiko Kostadinov’s signature streaks are layered with the compatible mix of modern blue and metallic silver. Lining the collar is the same blue as the rest of model, maintaining a sense of cohesion across the rather complicated design. Overall, it holds a modern aesthetic while still maintaining Asics’ performance flair — a look we can get by and are excited to see it being a more permanent part of Asics’ lineup.

Aside from footwear, the Kiko Kostadinov x Asics 2023 project will also include apparel. Though only one has been revealed thus far: a spring-ready mint green windbreaker that has a slightly off-kilter zipper placement. It’s a functional looker, to say the least.

No release dates have been set in stone, but we’ll be sure to update as soon as more details drop. In the meantime, check out the leaked images in the top slider gallery.
