From rugged denim and cargo pants to boiler suits and safety boots, industrial workwear has appeared as modern fashion trends more times than we can count. LeBron James and Nike come together to create their own variation with the newest Nike Lebron 19 colourway “Hard Hat”.
As hinted at by the name, this bold all-yellow colourway is a reference to the hard hat worn by on-site construction workers. The hard hat is yellow in nature to ensure that workers are easily spotted from machines to prevent mishaps. Nike adopts this hi-vis quality of the hard hat’s yellow and transfers it onto the Lebron 19, creating a summer sneaker that would capture the attention of any passerby.
Canary-yellow envelops much of the shoe, save the see-through plastic and grey accents along the sole, collar and tongue. Contrasting the bright yellow is pops of black that detail the lining, LBJ branding and striped Swoosh on the ankle. Further pushing the theme of construction is the small graphic of an excavator on the translucent panels of the heel. A sole with a white Air bubble sole ends the design, supplementing the bold sneaker with impact-softening functionality.
This construction-inspired Nike Lebron 19 “Hard Hat” is set to release on 1st July 2022, just in time for summer. It will retail at USD$200.
