Back in the days, keeping your kicks dirt-free have always been a must for many. But as fashion evolves throughout the years, appreciation for the vintage or destroyed aesthetics have surprisingly become a norm in the community and labels have adapted to changes with their recent releases.

Riding on to the trend, Japanese boutique BEAMS has delivered their take through a collaborative “Slipstream Lo Retro” release with sports label Puma. Looking to the 1987’s classic, the duo outfits the white leather uppers in a hand-painted pre-aged finish that will be unique to each pair.

Arriving alongside the pair comes the sports label’s iconic T7 track jacket, which took inspiration from the colors of vintage Puma Suede. Detailed with a faded finish, the jacket sees an upgrade from traditional polyester to cotton construction which adds a modern streetwear aesthetic.

Set to release on 27 January, the BEAMS x Puma Slipstream Lo Retro and T7 track jacket will be made available via BEAMS Harajuku for 17,050 JPY (~US$130) and 17,600 JPY (~US$135) respectively.
