First Look: New Balance 1906R “Black”
A darker, moodier vibe for the New Balance 1906R.
[Update 2 Dec 2022] Previously only available in China, the New Balance 1906R “Black” now has a confirmed Japanese release date: 16 December.
Emerging as the frontrunner from amongst New Balance’s offerings this year, we have witnessed the New Balance 1906R’s rise, from a forgotten performance shoe to one of the most coveted NB silhouettes.
First re-introduced via a string of collaborative releases, New Balance is now ready to unleash its own range of New Balance 1906Rs. Following a “New Vintage” pack, a new black colorway has just been revealed.
This time, New Balance aims for a darker and moodier vibe by going full on black. The upper on this NB 1906R is constructed with black mesh, then topped off with black suede overlays. The “N” logo is outlined in white, while white stitching is used on the overlays. The pre-aged aesthetic, well-loved by sneakerheads, returns by way of a yellowed midsole, giving it a used and vintage look.
The updated New Balance 1906R “Black” also features some of the Boston footwear brand’s best tech on the soles, such as ABZORB and N-ergy cushioning. This all new black colorway has already been released in China; a wider global release is expected to happen soon, so stay tuned for more updates.
Meanwhile, New Balance is reuniting with JJJJound on a pair of New Balance 991, here‘s the first looks.
