A Dazzling Party of 3: Supreme x Vans x Swarovski
A high-profile, tripartite collaboration set to dazzle.
[Update 20 Oct] Official campaign images of the pair have finally arrived. Although two different silhouettes were rumored, it seems that four new colorways instead of the classic Vans Old Skool will be the eventual canvas for the tripartite collaboration; in purple, brown, red, and black.
The pairs are delivered in a premium suede and canvas construction on the upper, with the hallmark checkerboard motif embellished with Swarovski crystals on the colored squares. Supreme’s branding is embroidered on the heel with tonal laces finishing off the aesthetic. Save for the aforementioned, the design remains loyal to its blueprint with its signatures intact like the vulcanized rubber sole unit and the gum waffle outsole.
The pair will see a release in the US on 20th October, 11 a.m. (EST) and a release in Japan on 19th November, 11 a.m. (JST). No price point has been revealed at the time of writing.
Supreme has been living up to its name. An absolute tour de force since beginning their roll-out of their Fall/Winter 2022 collection; a collection that includes collaborations with high-profile brands like Nike and the North Face, just some of the biggest fixtures in the sportswear and lifestyle spaces.
The release cycle began in late August and coming into Week 8, word through the grapevine is that two Vans models will be subsumed into the ever-expansive collection of highly-coveted pieces. While the two skate brands have ground the rails together before, Swarovski joins the trio as the most surprising addition to the party.
Their pedigree may be from polar ends of the spectrum, but when the opportunity to shine comes along, expect them to come together to create a dazzling spectacle. However, there’s no word nor any images yet to ascertain which of two of Vans’ silhouettes will get the diamond-crusted makeover. But it should be soon before long, if they want to stay on top of their release schedule. Keep watching this space.
