The BAPE Road STA is Having a Patent Camo Moment
Patent leather and camo on one shoe? That's bananas!
Compared to its BAPE STA sibling, the BAPE Road STA is more outlandish in its exterior choices. Previously, it has underwent a gorpcore transformation with a trail-ready pack and a chic redress with a metallic overhaul. Now, its combining its outdoorsy side with its voguish sensibility in a patent-with-camo look.
This redesign sees the usual Air Max-looking BAPE ROAD STA silhouette coated in glossy patent leather. This striking textile is accompanied by five just-as-loud colorways: kiwi green, cherry red, grape purple, blueberry blue and strawberry pink. Contrasting the use of such a bold outfit is the shooting “sta” dressed in BAPE’s camo ape. This juxtaposition between camo’s concealment and patent leather’s drawing of attention is quintessentially BAPE, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
These five pairs will launch on BAPE’s Japanese website on 9 September. They will retail for JPY26,400 (~US$184).
In other news, the BAPE STA is undergoing a crocodile-leather infusion with Drake’s OVO.
