[Pokémon TCG] Zeraora Master Ball Mirror (Terastal Festival ex [SV8a] 053/187) [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
The more valuable of the two Mythicals which have a Master Ball Mirror version in Terastal Festival ex [SV8a].
Zeraora is just one of two Mythical Pokémon to have received a Master Ball Mirror reprint in Terastal Festival ex [SV8a], the newest Pokémon TCG set. While ordinarily this might have made it one of the most sought-after cards in the entire set, Terastal Festival ex [SV8a] was in reality designed to be built around the Eeveelutions. Nevertheless, by no means does this imply that this card doesn’t have its own appeal.
About Zeraora Master Ball Mirror (Terastal Festival ex [SV8a] 053/187)
The fact that this is a Master Ball Mirror card is the main cause behind its elevated value. Master Ball Mirror cards are significantly rarer than their ordinary counterparts; they feature a “cracked ice” layer and have an etched Master Ball pattern on them from which their name derives. In the specific case of this Zeraora card, the “cracked ice” patterns pairs nicely with the lightning bolts across the background of the illustration to enhance the visual impact of both.
This card is the Master Ball Mirror version of a card first released as part of Stellar Miracle [SV7]. The Electric-type Pokémon is shown unleashing its Combat Thunder attack; its paws and parts of its head and torso are glowing with the sheer intensity of the electric blast it’s about to launch. The gameplay effect of Combat Thunder also alludes to Zeraora’s Pokédex entry which states that the Thunderclap Pokémon is able to inflict damage upon an opponent by its attacks’ electrical “shrapnel” even if the opponent isn’t directly hit; Combat Thunder inflicts 20 damage upon two opposing Benched Pokémon as well as the opposing Active Pokémon.
