[Yu-Gi-Oh TCG] Evil HERO Inferno Wing – Infernal Backlash (Supreme Darkness SUDA-JP032) [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
One of multiple cards in the set which reference Yu-Gi-Oh GX.
Many of the cards from newly-released Yu-Gi-Oh TCG set Supreme Darkness reference Yu-Gi-Oh GX, the first spin-off Yu-Gi-Oh anime series. Evil HERO Inferno Wing – Infernal Backlash is one of those; like those other cards, it contains allusions to the events of the Dimension World arc of Yu-Gi-Oh GX’s third season.
About Evil HERO Inferno Wing – Infernal Backlash (Supreme Darkness SUDA-JP032)
In the background of this card’s illustration, the castle of the Supreme King can be seen; this is connected to The Supreme King himself who in the anime, made use of Evil HERO monster cards. Also visible in the illustration is the comet which was commonly seen throughout the Dimension World arc. The comet is shown glowing blue, implying that the image is set when the Supreme King was still active.
Another Yu-Gi-Oh GX reference can be seen in the card’s name; it’s named after Evil HERO Inferno Wing’s signature move and is thus the signature-move counterpart of Evil HERO Inferno Wing. This card is also the Evil HERO counterpart of the Elemental HERO Flame Wingman – Infernal Rage card from The Valuable Book EX 3 promotional cards. That, as well as the fact that this card can come in Quarter Century Secret Rare, should drive up collectors’ interest in the card because it serves as part of two card pairings.
