[Yu-Gi-Oh TCG] From Cameo to Featured Character: Lacrima the Scarlet Sorrow (Rage of the Abyss ROTA-JP014)
Here's one for the Devil May Cry fans out there.
Lacrima the Scarlet Sorrow wasn’t originally introduced on a card featuring the character. Her first appearance was as a background cameo on the Fiendsmith Lacrima card from Infinite Forbidden. Unknown to Yu-Gi-Oh TCG fans, Konami actually had plans for that background character all along; these plans came to fruition in Rage of the Abyss.
Of course, the obvious can’t be overlooked—cards depicting female characters such as this one will often be of notable value. The card’s illustrator also deliberately played up this element; Lacrima’s rather revealing outfit is paired with the angle at which she’s placed. Lacrima is standing at an angle which emphasizes her partially-uncovered chest.
It’s possible for this card to come in Quarter Century Secret Rare as well; this certainly adds to the card’s value. On top of that, fans of the Devil May Cry video games will be drawn to this card because Lacrima the Scarlet Sorrow is based on Trish, a major character in the series who’s playable in Devil May Cry 2 and Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition.
This card will be released in English on 10 October 2024 along with the rest of Rage of the Abyss.
The price of a Quarter Century Secret Rare Lacrima the Scarlet Sorrow (Rage of the Abyss ROTA-JP014) card is 17,000 JPY (~US$110).
