The ASICS GEL-NYC has been doing well this year. It has seen collaborations with emmi, Needles, and Lapstone & Hammer, as well as in-line iterations in “Indigo” and three other colors in the “Wide Mesh” pack. Now, it gets a “Strawberries and Cream” makeover, dropping just in time for Summer 2024.

The color palette consists of Cream and Mineral Beige. Metallic silver accents can be found all over, while soft, luxurious pink suede wraps the toe cap and mudguard, complementing the overall aesthetic of the shoe.

The shoe’s reliable construction bolsters its look. The ASICS GEL-NYC bridges the gap between classic and contemporary running shoe styles. Its upper combines the design of the early-2000s GEL-NIMBUS 3 with modern details from the GEL-MC PLUS V.

The sole unit, however, takes a futuristic approach, borrowing the tooling system from the GEL-CUMULUS 16. This combination of lightweight foams and signature GEL technology delivers a comfortable and supportive ride.

The ASICS GEL-NYC “Strawberries and Cream” is slated for a June 2024 release via ASICS brick-and-click stores and select retailers. Expect it to arrive with an RRP of US$130 in men’s sizes. Stay tuned to SNKRDUNK Magazine for more details in the coming weeks.
